Planning a Rehearsal Dinner or Welcome Party

This week I am joined by Chrysty Summers to discuss rehearsal dinners and welcome parties—events that are popular additions to a wedding but may take a back seat when you’re immersed in planning the main event. Today we look at how to plan one of these with the help of your Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings planner, by working directly with a restaurant that has a private room, or by making a large-group reservation at a restaurant. We also cover popular places at Walt Disney World to hold one and offer some alternatives to the traditional dinner.

  1. Hey Carrie,

You mentioned on the podcast suggesting having a welcome party in a DVC 1-bedroom. How many people do you think a 1-bedroom would comfortably fit for a casual get together (drinks and light snacks)?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Liz! Let’s see… I think it really depends on the property, since an Old Key West 1-bedroom is HUGE but Animal Kingdom’s can be pretty small. There’s a chart HERE with square footage. Rough guess… if you include the bedroom…. 15 or 20?

  2. This is a very informative episode! We’re in the midst of planning our rehearsal dinner now, and you touched on a lot of venues and ideas that we’ve been considering. Our frontrunner right now is the Cabana Bar and Beach Club at the Dolphin, which is another one that I think is overlooked for casual gatherings.
