I like the idea of taking a special trip around a festive time of year. Our engageversary lands around Holiday Time at DL and it makes it that much more special to be there and celebrate because everything is so pretty!
I had to comment on one of your suggestions. Disney has caught on to the idea of brides wearing their wedding gowns during the ticketed Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland and I’ve heard that Security has been extra aware of those type of “costumes”. In fact, just 2 weeks ago I heard that a bride and groom were escorted out of the parks because of the wedding gown/tux. (From what I understand, they had plans to secretly elope while they were there.) So the only real way to “get away with” wearing your wedding dress is if you make it more obviously like a costume i.e. zombie makeup. Mindy over at Budget Fairytale blogged a trash the dress session from a bride that was taken during the ticketed Halloween event last year. She’s wearing heavy makeup and her dress isn’t very pristine so she was able to make it past security. So unfortunately, anyone dreaming of wearing formal wedding attire at Disneyland will have to host a DFTW and pay the in-park photo session fee. 🙁
This is so interesting to me, considering that Disneyland used to be waaaay more lax than WDW about the whole fancy dress in the park thing. Yet now people are wearing wedding gear to WDW’s Halloween parties with no issues. Go figure!
I know! I guess maybe they caught on to the secret wedding (a HUGE no-no) and kicked them out because of that? I was sort of hoping that I’d get a chance to wear my wedding dress again one day so I hope DL goes back to being lax around Halloween. 🙂 lol
