Because the Catholic Church does not recognize marriages performed outside the church, couples who wish to celebrate at the Disney parks and resorts and still have a Catholic wedding are faced with an extra layer of complexity in their planning. On today’s show, you’ll hear from three Catholic brides who each took a different approach to incorporating their dream of a Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding with their desire to have their marriages recognized by the Church.
First, Renee Martin talks about being married during Sunday Mass at her hometown church, followed by a wedding at Walt Disney World. Then, Gina Semerad discusses her decision to follow her Disney wedding with a convalidation ceremony back home. Finally, Carolina Galarza shares the story of her ceremony at Kissimmee’s Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and reception at Epcot, which were both coordinated by Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings.
