NOTE — After this episode was recorded, Disney discontinued the “Mini Wishes” Catered Event Experience and changed the way it prices Wishes Collection events as follows:

Wishes Ceremony Fees

      • $4,000 at resorts
      • $4,500 at parks 
      • $5,000 at the Wedding Pavilion

Wishes Per-Person Food and Beverage Minimums

      • $140 at brunch
      • $165 at lunch
      • $190 at dinner

Enhancement Minimums – Resort Locations:

      • $5,000 on Tuesday & Wednesday
      • $8,000 on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday
      • $10,000 on Saturday

Enhancement Minimums – Theme Parks:

      • $7,000 on Tuesday & Wednesday
      • $10,000 on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday
      • $12,000 on Saturday

This week, Disney bride Kristi Fay joins me to discuss everything you need to know about Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings’ Wishes Collection weddings and vow renewals at Walt Disney World.

This show is designed to introduce you to the basics of planning a Wishes event, which, unlike the Escape and Memories packages, is a completely customizable, a la carte experience. We cover the three expenditure requirements—a ceremony fee, a per-person food and beverage minimum expenditure, and an enhancement minimum expenditure—with specific pricing for 2017. This includes an explanation of the often confusing room-night requirement and room-blocking process.

Additionally, this episode covers the planning process from start to finish, including the on-site planning session and a timeline of the major financial milestones: paying the deposit, paying the minimum expenditure, paying the balance, and settling up after the event.

And we look at a timeline of the wedding day itself, discuss events you can add to enhance the day or create an entire wedding weekend, and answer frequently asked questions.

  1. LOVE the podcast and your book!!! I have a question on the deposits…. for the train station I read the deposit is $10,000 … do you know if that is still true and if so how much if that is held vs put to cost right away?

    1. Glad you like them! Yes, it’s still $10,000. $9,000 goes toward your minimum payment and $1,000 is held back for overages.
